Courses and Prerequisites
What is Phase 1, and are there any prerequisites?
Phase 1 introduces you to the Exos performance methodology and the Exos Training System. Designed for practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of performance training, this four-day mentorship is the first step in immersing yourself in the unique methodology and systems used to help some of the world’s top athletes achieve success. Whether your goal is to enhance the training programs of professional athletes or to apply these principles to broader populations, the course provides a comprehensive foundation in the Exos approach to performance improvement. Currently, there are no prerequisites to attend Phase 1. Learn more about Phase 1 here.
What is the difference between Phase 1 and XPS?
The Exos Performance Specialist (XPS) Certification is an online course which focuses on training strategies for athletes, the four pillars of human performance, and the EXOS methodology. Essentially, the online course will contain the same material that is covered in the in-person mentorship but in an online format that you can work through at your own pace. In Phase 1, you have the opportunity to participate in several hands-on, practical sessions to help further understand and apply the theoretical knowledge.
What is Phase 2, and are there any prerequisites?
Phase 2 further explores Exos methodology, delving deeper into the art and science of coaching and its practical application on the field or in the gym. This four-day mentorship is ideal for coaches, trainers, and sports scientists seeking to advance their coaching skills, deliver impactful instruction and feedback, and design training programs that lead athletes to achieve their highest potential. Blending theoretical knowledge and practical application, Phase 2 emphasizes movement error identification and correction through the Technical, Error, Correction (TEC) Model; strength and power development; and Energy Systems Development (ESD) programming to target the physiological needs of athletes. To attend Phase 2, you must have completed Phase 1 or passed the Exos Performance Specialist (XPS) Online Certification. Learn more about Phase 2 here.
What is Phase 3, and are there any prerequisites?
Phase 3 of the Exos Performance Mentorship builds on the comprehensive coaching and training insights gained in the initial phases, focusing on the practical application of these principles for professional and elite athlete development. This final four-day session teaches you how to craft and execute detailed, athlete-specific training programs. Learn how to develop a performance culture that fosters athletic excellence through advanced topics such as athletic profiling and exploring a mixed-method approach to developing strength and power. This phase facilitates a deeper understanding of how to integrate various training components into a cohesive program that addresses all aspects of an athlete's performance needs. Get immersed in the holistic Exos approach by observing training sessions led by our Exos coaches and learning how to apply the Exos methodology to meet the development needs of the individual athlete. This phase not only solidifies the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the mentorship but also enhances the participant's capability to elevate athlete performance through strategic program design. To attend Phase 3, you must have completed Phase 2. Learn more about Phase 3 here.
